History

Third generation farmers, the partners of Grupo Bona started in the cattle business since 1981 to add value to its production of hay and grains, leasing corrals in different locations in the Mexicali Valley.

Due to its growth, in April 1999 they acquired Corrales 5 Espuelas feedlot, with a capacity to feed up to 4,000 head of cattle. Today, the company has an annual feeding capacity of up to 92,000 heads.

In order to enhance the production chain, the construction of Carnes Selectas de México processing stared in 2009, opening in 2010. The same year the Group achieved TIF 511 certification.

In 2011 and 2012 important certifications were obtained for exporting to several countries, including the United States, South Korea, Japan, Russia, substantially expanding the range and beef production.

Today, Bonaprime has a capacity of 50,000 head of cattle.
